into existence
by irritation.

The intruder
rubbing against
a body
was encapsulated
rather than
thrown out.

By building wall
upon wall
to get rid of this
foreign body
the oyster
who can't speak
turns a grain of sand
into a pearl.

God's eye

The oyster
not noticing
the potential
of that irritating
grain of sand
carefully
added
layer upon layer
though not
for love
but out of
exasperation
and through
adversity
the grain of sand
is turned into
a shining pearl
